SMARTY 2.0 - Product Details

This standard-size SMARTY 2.0 is modeled after roughly a 5'7'' (170 cm) human shape with an average build. If it were a human, it would weigh roughly 155 lbs (70 kg). It is our most versatile model, made to fit most people.

For larger grapplers, check out the Pre-Filled SMARTY XL.

For smaller grapplers and kids, check out the Pre-Filled SMARTY Kid.

The Pre-Filled SMARTY 2.0 weighs about 35 lbs (16 kg). We’ve found this to be the optimal weight for resistance and maneuverability, especially when drilling from the bottom position, to simulate a floating opponent.

It comes in a cardboard box 18" x 18" x 25".

My New Fidget Toy

Just as great as I expected it to be. I've only had it for about a week and I've already been able to drill some new moves into my memory by myself at home, instead of waiting until my 2x weekly practices.

It feels a little stiff on opening but it will loosen up after a few rolls, and I'm sure even more over time.

The only thing I didn't consider is the vinyl material, which is important to keep it clean, can be uncomfortable on bare skin. If you drill no gi, I'd suggest wearing some spatz (or getting some for smarty).

Very happy with it, and I can tell I'll be learning at a new pace!

Ages well!

I got the smarty a few years ago but had not had much time to use it while I was busy with classes. Fast forward a couple years and I have had to give bjj classes a break due to the scheduling conflicts. During these years my kids have been climbing all over the smarty so I thought I would have to refill him as he did not hold the proper posture. Not so, a little massaging and beginning to use him daily and he is back to his correct stance. I also am tall enough I should have gotten the xl but because of having kids that do bjj I didn't and it works fine for me (still a little heavy for them but they will grow into it). Highly recommend getting the filled version if you are able. It is working great to not only keep my bjj but progress in solidifying gaps in my knowledge while I cannot train live. Cheers!

well made but a bit stiff

ive been drilling with mine and its definitely a bit stiff/over stuffed. The elbows hardly bend. When i try to do an armbar, it bends at the forearm as opposed to the elbow. I may have to look into pulling some of the stuff out to make it more versatile. However its well made and seems like good quality.

As mentioned in our email, what you're experiencing is normal with a freshly filled SMARTY. The filling will naturally settle with use, and the joints—including the elbows—will become more flexible over time. We don't recommend removing any of the filling, as it can affect the SMARTY's shape and overall training performance.
